Michaloliakos - The Fall of Constantinople

A moving speech from Nikos Michaloliakos at the commemorative ceremony for the Fall of Constantinople 29 May 1453

The leader of Golden Dawn was the main speaker at this great event Remembering and Honouring the final battle for the Royal City and its last defenders.

Nikos Michaloliakos acknowledged the thousands of Hellenes who today, in a subservient nation, don’t bow down but also honour those who were never subservient. He mentioned the sad image that he encountered when he laid a wreath on behalf of Golden Dawn at the memorial of the Unknown Soldier to honour the fallen of the 29th of May 1453: there was only one other wreath laid from a cultural association.

There was nothing from the political parties. No wreaths from any political or government organisation of Hellas. Only Golden Dawn honours those who gave their lives for Hellas.

Instead, we have celebratory parades and festivities remembering the massacre of the Hellenes in Turkey: total silence from the “Hellenic” state. Only Golden Dawn remembers those who fell for the Fatherland, for our Faith and for Freedom!

Transcript of Speech

“Brothers and sisters in arms, proud Hellenes, you’re here today to honour, from a betrayed and subservient nation, those who did not surrender, the last defenders of the Royal City, the City of our dreams: Constantinople. Some traitors call it “Istanbul”! There is no “Istanbul”, there is Constantinople! Today and for all time!

It’s the 29th of May today and Golden Dawn for decades now, we were just a small group of young people then but today we’re a Popular Movement that's sweeping the nation- we were honouring at this statue the memory of Konstantinos Paleologos.

We requested permission to lay a wreath at the memorial of the Unknown Soldier today and we were allowed to, about an hour ago. We only saw a single wreath there, from some local organisation. We didn’t see any wreath from any political party or any political or government organisation! Shame!

29th of May 1453 and the fall of the City shocked the entire world. However before I refer to certain points of this thrilling and tragic story let’s remember that when our nation started it’s revolution in 1821, there was a dialogue between The Old Man of Moria – our liberator Theodoros Kolokotronis and the English Navy Captain Hamilton.

Hamilton asked him “Who do you think you, the greeks, are? Why don’t you make an agreement with the Sultan?” Theodoros Kolokotronis replied “Our King never signed any agreement. He never negotiated any agreement and only three places in Greece were left independent - Mani, Souli and Sfakia and us the Kleftes (thieves) who have been fighting for three hundred years”!

29th of May 2017 and today one thousand one hundred kilometres away from Athens in Constantinople they’re partying. They are celebrating. Celebrating the looting, celebrating the Fall, with different village choirs, with kaftans and scarves and what have you. Yet in Athens, in the capital of the “Hellenes” Silence! Only we Golden Dawners remember, we have a memory and honour those who fell for Faith, Fatherland and Freedom! For Jesus Christ, for Hellas! There is total silence, a deathly silence, in the Athens of the “Hellenes”. At the same time that we’ve gathered here to honour the holy memory of this great Emperor and his brave fighters who fell in their millions for the Hellenic empire, millions of slaves are glued to their television screens to watch “Survivor” and other ridiculous, revolting programmes were people disgrace and humiliate themselves and the viewers. They’re responsible for their own fate, we’re not fighting for them- for our sense of honour, for our pride, for our faith, for the Golden Dawn of the Hellenes. That’s what we are fighting for. Not for the people who are happy to be slaves and subservient.

Today I had the honour to follow an exceptional man to the podium, someone who has made history, our brother in arms Alexandros Gerontas. His chest bears the scars of bullet wounds, the bullets of the murderers who weren’t able to stop us. A few days ago, a “fiesta” was organised at a central Athens hotel, by the persecutor of Golden Dawn – Dendias. As he was speaking, behind him on the wall, he displayed a photo of myself in handcuffs, like a hunter displaying his trophy. What message was he trying to convey back when that image was being broadcast on all the news channels, and again yesterday? Fear. However we are not afraid.  You are all here! Are you afraid of fighting for Hellas?

At another Gate of Saint Romanos, that is found on Irakleio Avenue we also wrote a glorious page in Hellenic history, with the blood of two exceptional brothers in arms and the wounds on the body of a third. They should know that we don’t forget. They should know that the myth took form at that Gate of Saint Romanos, our Emperor, he became a myth to an entire people. He became a poem to our great poets who were inspired by Hellas and by the Fatherland not like todays poets who are against anything and everything Hellenic. Our children are no longer taught the poem by Vizinos in school: The poem “Grandmother, did you see him with your own eyes, the King?” talks about the Marble Entombed King. Yes our tradition says that Konstantinos Paleologos never died: an Angel of the Lord has hidden him until the time comes to rise up, when he will take his sword and chase out the turks so that we will once again have that which belongs to us.

He only had a few thousand defenders then, the King. I don’t know how many of you have visited that modest holy temple in Mystras, where there’s a mosaic of a two headed eagle. That is where Konstantinos Paleologos was sworn in as Emperor in 1449 so that he could go to the City, to write history, to write the myth that kept our nation alive for four hundred years. It will be written again for thousands of years because nations survive only with Marble Entombed Kings and Leonidas’, not with accountants and miserable people who sign memorandums.

Everyone here today is exceptional, the young, the proud hellenes. You all honour us here today with your presence and to you all, a mighty “Well done” is due because you resist and stand tall at a time when everyone else is subservient either to the “god” of wealth or to fear in a sold-out, foreign serving political state. You all deserve the largest round of applause, firstly from myself.

Someone came forward and said a few words about the mosque that they are planning to build in Athens. We recently had a draft law proposed in the Parliament about the mosque that we of course voted against. You should however be aware of something: who paved the way for the Mosque. For a mosque to be built, or any place of worship from any religion, it’s necessary for the approval of the Metropolitan of the area. In 2014 Samaras and Venizelos voted for a law along with Panos Kammenos who plays the patriot, and with this vote the mosque was approved by the state -this foreign serving entity. Prior to this, they couldn’t build a mosque.

They planned their betrayal purposefully and methodically. Against them they had, they have and they will have, as long as we are breathing, as long as God graces us with life, all of us who have been through such difficulties- bullets, imprisonment. Even from behind the bars of prison we were still fighting them with our written word and with our faith. With only a phone card from prison, we waged our election campaign. We didn’t back down! We won’t back down! They will always find us against them whether they like it or not!

At this point I’d like to share with you a verse regarding the betrayal of Europe, from Lorenzos Mavilis but I get the impression that it might be against the “anti-racism” law. In any case I will tell you that Lorenzos Mavilis writes that “Turks are beasts nurtured by Europe” That’s what Turks are. Back then in 1453 the ships of the Venetian usurers never arrived to assist Constantinople. A handful of brave Genovese went and they deserve to be honoured for it however when their leader was injured they abandoned the City.

There were also “Hellenes” that had great wealth but kept it hidden. When a man from the West came, Urban the Hungarian who had manufactured a cannon, there were no funds found for Constantinople to purchase it for its defence. Urban then went and sold it to Mohamed. In the armies of Mohamed there were thousands of European Christians but also Hellenes unfortunately, betrayal is everywhere. The Gate is in the state itself. What we must do is within our chests, within our souls, within our hearts: we should not let them pass The Gate.

What meaning does today’s commemoration really have? What meaning does our commemoration at the end of every January have when we honour the fallen of Imia? Or every summer, when we honour the dead of Thermopylae? It is the worship of our ancestors. It is the proof of that exactly which they want to destroy: that we are the historical continuation of the great nation of Hellenes that created two empires: one of Alexander the Great and one of the Byzantines. Of these empires we are the continuation and that is why today there should be everywhere ceremonies in memory of those who fell so that the City could remain Hellenic.

However there is silence: the guilty silence of the obedient slaves. There is a guilty silence also from those who speak of a Hellenic-Turkish friendship. Then there is the silence of those pseudo-patriots who every so often make a big show of playing the hard men, that “if the turks dare to do anything, then they’ll do this or that” What do they do? They continually violate our national sovereignty in the Aegean and they watch while speaking empty words. They are subservient too, they don’t dare do a thing.

The Hellenic nation is the historic continuation of the Acheans who left with the black sails that sailed to Troy. It is the natural continuation of those who fought the battles of all battles, at Marathon, at Salamis, at Thermopylae. It is the natural continuation of the Hellenes who gave the first battle of Manzikert that were betrayed by “Hellenes” and were defeated. It is the natural continuation of the Hellenes that fought, only a few thousand, at the side of the greatest hero of the Hellenic Middle Ages, Konstantinos Paleologos, the Marble Entombed King, the myth of the Hellenes.

Proud Hellenes, brothers and sisters in arms, it is no accident that they want to change by all means possible the history books. They want to develop a generation of Hellenes with the memory of a goldfish. Who won’t care where they came from or where they’re going; who were their grandparents or what did their ancestors do; what is the fame and the glory of the nation that they belong to. They are the crows of globalisation that want to destroy all ethnic nations, to destroy all Fatherlands. We reply to them that against their plans, Golden Dawn will be the Secret School of the Hellenes in these difficult times of decay. We are fighting to keep alive the memory of the great and significant events of this nation, like today’s commemoration. The day that the Marble Entombed King spilt his blood to pass into immortality until he will rise with his sword in hand so that the great generation of Hellenes will be reborn and reign in glory against the subservient foreign serving times we live in. We nationalists should acknowledge that we don’t forget, that to this aim we are primarily dedicated, not to forget. Not to forget Salamis. Not to forget Thermopylae. Not to forget the Gate of Saint Romanos. But let us not forget also the traitors who opened the gates. We should remember them especially so that when the time comes the nation can give to them what they deserve.

Brothers and sisters in arms, this night in Mani, let the flags fly high, to symbolise the souls of the brave who fell in City. Raise them high towards Heaven. The two headed eagle protects the whole nation and we can hope that one day it will fly again in Constantinople. Standing here in front of the statue of Konstantinos Paleologos I will invite you to participate in a Roll Call of the Fallen. I will say the word “Immortal” and I ask that you repeat it.

Konstantinos Paleologos and his brave fighters: Immortal!

Crowd: Immortal

Long Live Victory! Long Live the Nation!
