Retired Brigadier Athanasios Papadopoulos fights for Golden Dawn


It has been officially announced that Brigadier Athanasios Papadopoulos will be proudly representing Golden Dawn in the upcoming elections. From the region of Evros, on the Bulgarian/Turkish border, Papadopoulos will be representing the Nationalists in a territory where Golden Dawn still claim a seat. A short summary of Papadopoulos’s biography is as follows:

  •         Born in Didymoteicho, Evro in 1961
  •         In 1979, he entered the Military Academy from which he graduated in 1983, designated the title of Artillery Lieutenant.
  •         He served in various weapon campaigns such as artillery commander, Operations Officer and Deputy Squadron.
  •         He was promoted twice, for a total of five years, the Squadron Commander of Artillery.
  •         He was also Director for the Office Division and Corps, Office Manager of the Civil-Military Cooperation in NATO Headquarters in Thessaloniki (G'SS / NDC-GR), Deputy Brigade & Defence Attaché and Military Attaché of the Greek embassy in Moscow.
  •         He graduated from the War College and the School of National Defence.

Athanasios Papadopoulos speaks English and Russian. Retired, at his own request in June 2013 and has since lived in Alexandroupolis. He is married and has two daughters 20 and 16 years of age.
    
Brigadier Papadopoulos participates actively in the political struggle of the Golden Dawn, which stands for a great and free Greece.
