The Moment of Truth in the trial of Golden Dawn
On
Wednesday 6th of November, the General Secretary of Golden Dawn Mr Nikolaos Michaloliakos
testified for four hours mentioning that it was unprecedented for a political
leader to be tried for the actions of one of their political followers. He
cited the recent case in Italy where a Lega party follower faced charges
without the leader of the party Mr Salvini or any other member being dragged
into the proceedings.
During
his testimony Mr Michaloliakos asserted that he was innocent of all charges and
stated that Golden Dawn has always operated entirely within the law: the
current trial was dirty propaganda and a political conspiracy.
Our
brother in arms Michaloliakos described his arrest as a show trial for
television and an exercise in “shock and awe” with the aim of terrifying the Hellenic people away from supporting Golden Dawn.
As
expected a part of the questions were aimed at the political ideology of the
party (!) which of itself speaks volumes as to the agenda of this trial.
“I have and continue to
identify as a Nationalist. It is the Nationalism of the Hellenes and the Nationalism
of the Hellenes by its nature cannot be a copy of German or Italian Nationalism.
I am proud of my Ideas. I don’t believe I’m appearing before an Inquisition”.
The
testimony of Mr Michaloliakos totally dismantled the charges that were a
patchwork of unrelated issues following on from the political conspiracy and
judicial interventions by the Samaras government in 2013. Our brother in arms
Michaloliakos thoroughly addressed the mythologies of non-existent constitutions,
phone calls that had been attributed to him, the false witnesses and the
charges relating to the so called “criminal organisation”.

Crowd
is chanting to Michaloliakos: “Listen Leader and listen well, you exposed the
system once again!”
Michaloliakos:
“I have defended Golden Dawn and its supporters. I have addressed everything
we’ve been accused of for the past six years.”
