Turkey is concerned of the presence of Hellenes in Pontos!

For those who do not know, apart from the millions of Hellenes who have come from Pontos and Russia to Greece, there are still millions of Hellenic Pontians in Turkey, many of them whom are cryptochristians and still speak the ancient Hellenic Pontic dialect.

As has been revealed, the Turkish government has secretly monitored Hellenic nationals who visited the historic monastery on Turkey's Black Sea coast, according to the testimony of a former intelligence officer.

This disclosure was made during a hearing at Constantinople's Supreme Criminal Court from a Muhittin Zenit, a 46-year-old former police officer. According to the transcript of the hearing, received by the Nordic Monitor, the officer, who worked in Turkey's northeastern province of  Trapezounda , admitted that one of their orders was to monitor Hellenes visiting the province for tours.

Monitoring the activities at Ponto was part of our mission. For example, every group of tourists from Greece who would visit the Monastery of Panagia Soumela" (The Hellenic Orthodox Monastery, a symbol of  Hellenism dating back to the 4th century AD in Trapezounda), Zenit said, adding that he and other intelligence officers were watching Hellenic tourists.
