Romanian Patriarch Daniel: " We must not forget those who suffered under the Communist regime ''
Unfortunately even to this day in our Hellenic homeland Greece is still the last Soviet of Europe and dominated by the communists with the blessings of Kerenski of New Democracy, no one dares say a word about Bolshevik's. But in other countries that once lived in communism like Poland, Romania and so many others, officials have made a clear stance against the inhuman Marxism!
So as stated , the Romanian Patriarch Daniel send's out a strong message to the symposium organized by the Institute of Political Science of Romania Academy to always commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Romanian Revolution of 1989, urging participants to: " Never forget those who suffered under the Communist regime."
In this, amongst other things, Patriarch Daniel explains how : "Eastern Europe had gone through the nightmare of the Communist era. The Orthodox churches in this part of the world were subjected to cruel harassment by the totalitarian atheist system. During the communist regime, the Romanian Orthodox Church was gradually removed from the life of society. In 1948, religious education was abolished by schools, the Divine Liturgy was totally banned, theological schools were closed, more than 1,000 Orthodox clerics were arrested and thrown into prisons or sent to forced labour in harsh conditions or even deported.
